Air source heat pump

Planning

Our Heat Pump Water Heater uses the same principles as refrigerators and air conditioners but instead of drawing the heat and replacing it with cold air, the heat pump draws it and uses it to heat water. Unlike conventional electricity and fossil-fuel-fired water heaters, heat pump water heaters take heat from the surrounding air.
Our heat pump absorbs heat from the surrounding air by pumping it using a fan into an evaporator that contains
a non CFC refrigerant R134a with a very low boiling point (-26.1oC). The liquid refrigerant turns to gas in the evaporator and goes through the compressor which pumps it through a small valve, which compresses it while generating a lot of heat and pressure. The heated gas goes through a coiled copper tube heat exchanger in the water tank and heats the water. It condenses back to a liquid as it losses heat and passes through an expansion valve that liquifies it further. The liquid refrigerant goes to the evaporator and the process starts again.

Heat pumps mainly consist of a compressor, fan, evaporator, and the heat exchanger. The compressor requires electricity to compress the refrigerant and vaporize it, and the fan requires a small amount of electricity to continually blow air across the evaporator coils when the unit is operating. The only electricity used is in the operation of the compressor and the fan in order to absorb the heat from the ambient air and pump it to the heat exchanger in the water tank.

Project Management

The balcony solar water heater is our innovative Indirect active pressurised split system where the U-pipe
or Heat pipe solar collector is placed on the outside of the balcony or hang from the building’s parapet and is ideal for apartments or flats where the roof space is limited or inaccessible. It blends well with the building and provides good aesthetics on the overall building design. The only requirement would be that sufficient sunshine falls on the collector by facing either the East or West. The water tank can be placed on the balcony itself, on the loft of the bathroom, in a closet or one can use our our patented all in one Integrated tank.
This system being pressurised will provide hot water continuously at a good pressure and incorporates an electric booster for when the sunshine is unavailable or the hot water is depleted before the sun comes out. It also incorporates the latest digital system controller that has capability of remote control and monitoring from your computer or smart phone.

ESS 004

ESS-004 is a non-pressurized SWH that uses the UTLE vacuum tubes connected directly to the tank. The tubes ensure that solar irradiation is captured from all angles. It is specifically designed for use around the equator and is normally mounted at an angle of 21o to the horizontal.
It is ideal for most modern homes and offers a controller that enables the user to program its operation to suit their lifestyle.

It has a temperature and water level sensor and an electric heater installed in the water tank. The water level sensor can measure four levels of water in the tank 25,50,75 and 100% full.
So the controller for example can fill the tank via an electromagnetic valve when the water level is 25% after everyone has bathed in the house to avoid cooling the hot water. The heater also can be set to keep the water at constant temperature, come ON at preset times or be put ON manually. A pump can also be connected to the cold water inlet pipe and be controlled by the controller to fill the water tank if the pressure is low and the water heater is installed on the roof of the house.

ESS 002

HM002 is a non-pressurized SWH that uses the UTLE vacuum tubes connected directly to the tank. The tubes ensure that solar irradiation is captured from all angles. It is normally mounted at an angle of 33o to the horizontal. It is ideal for most modern homes and offers a controller that enables the user to program its operation to suit
their lifestyle. Several systems can also be connected in series to increase hot water capacity.

ESS FLOATER TANK

Our floater tank solar water heater is a non-pressurized SWH that uses the UTLE vacuum tubes connected directly to the tank. The tubes ensure that solar irradiation is captured from all angles. It is the easiest to install and is ideal for places without municipal piped water or electricity. It is also not expensive. The system has a small tank that seats upon the main tank. It contains a float ball valve and is used to fill the main water tank with water. It acts
like a toilet cistern and ensures the main water tank is full of water at all times. The filling can be done by municipal tap water or other water reservoir with a head over the floater tank. The system is installed at 38o to the horizontal and the mounting brackets have a provision to fit on flat roofs or pitched roofs of any angle. We have models with an optional electric heater for use in very cloudy and rainy areas that have electricity.
